2025-26 Religious School and Hebrew School Registration

Our Mission

At Temple Israel, we inspire and nurture students to form their Jewish identity and cultivate a love of Jewish life while providing a strong understanding of Reform Judaism. We achieve this through teaching Jewish holidays, lifecycle events, the Torah, and values, alongside Hebrew, Shabbat, and holidays, as well as tikkun olam (“repair of the world”)—always deepening our connection to the land of Israel and its people.

Temple Israel’s youth and family programming offers an opportunity for friendships and community-building in an environment that welcomes students and families, encouraging active participation. Our focus is to make learning accessible to all and to foster a love of Judaism and the Jewish people.

Program Highlights

Preschool Program (Ages 3-5): Our youngest students will meet monthly on designated Sundays. Alongside our caring and professional teachers, our preschool students will engage in play and sensory-based learning experiences that will connect them to Jewish holidays, rituals, and community.

Religious School (Kindergarten – 12th Grade): Students will meet biweekly on Sunday mornings for engaging and interactive learning experiences rooted in our values, which include music, prayer, and hands-on activities. Our program will be enhanced by the addition of the #OnwardHebrew model of Hebrew learning, which uses the sound-to-print approach. We learn language best when we hear and engage with it before we learn to read. On Sundays, our students will be exposed to Hebrew words and phrases through t’filah (“prayer”), Hebrew Through Movement lessons, and Jewish Life Vocabulary, which will allow them to hear and internalize Hebrew to better prepare them as they learn to read and decode Hebrew prayers.

Hebrew Instruction: Hebrew learning and B’nai Mitzvah preparation are individualized, allowing you to create your own schedule! All students in Grades 5-7 will receive one-on-one or small-group Hebrew instruction with our Hebrew teacher. As students start preparing for their B’nai Mitzvah, they will meet with Cantorial Soloist, Suzanne Guinane, to master their assigned Torah portion and the Hebrew prayers they will lead during their B’nai Mitzvah service. If you are interested in your child starting formal Hebrew lessons before 5th grade, please reach out to Rabbi Carlie Daniels at 561-833-8421.

Teen (8th-12th) Grade Program:

Madrichim (Teacher’s Assistants)

All 8th-12th graders are encouraged to become madrichim (teacher’s assistants) in our Religious School. Parents, please register your teens using the Religious School registration form. Additionally, please have your teen click here to complete the madrichim application so we can learn more about their desires for their experience.
