Join us for an inspiring weekend with artist-in-residence Charlie Kramer. Charlie Kramer is a Jewish musician, spiritual leader, and motivational speaker who transforms his journey with blindness into a force for healing and empowerment. Diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at five, he once resisted his disability but later embraced it as a path to purpose. Through soulful music and storytelling, Charlie helps others recognize their worth, overcome challenges, and find strength in vulnerability. His work inspires people of all backgrounds to break free from limitations and experience music as a tool for healing and self-acceptance. Friday, April 4 Shabbat Experience
We will begin the evening outside in our courtyard for communal candle lighting and Kabbalat Shabbat and then transition into the sanctuary for Singing in the Dark, a prayerful and thought-provoking experience in which we will mute one of our senses, allowing the visual realm to fade into the background and open up to the world that lives within you. The experience will include Mi Shebeirach (a prayer for healing) and Kaddish Yatom (a prayer for those in mourning or overserving the anniversary of a loved one’s death).
Saturday, April 5
Gather for an insightful morning of study with Artist in Residence Charlie Kramer. Charlie will break down one of our most mistranslated blessings and engage participants in discussing what our tradition tells us it means to be blind.
Sunday, April 6
9:30 – 11:45 am: Finding Strength in our Challenges – A Workshop for Families
Join Charlie Kramer for a workshop geared toward families (parents, children, and teens) as we learn how to recognize our strengths, overcome challenges, and find strength and vulnerability.
